Painting in GIMP – First Impressions
Hey everyone. Today I tried out the program GIMP, which is free to download at: http://www.gimp.org/downloads/ . This is my first impression of the program. I apologize that I’m a complete noob, but maybe in a way that makes for a more honest view on how the program performs.
A fellow youtuber offered a solution to the problem of lag in GIMP:
The solution to the lag problem is because windows creates an effect when you tap the pen or double tap, this can be solved by turning off all pen flicks and disabling the pen notifications in the windows 7 registry.

Also here is the solution if you don’t want to use the link:
I suggest to move the doubleclick distance slider to minimum to reduce delays in painting programs. For other software disable the TabletPC Input Service (may appear now under the name Keyboard and Touch input). Also check the following steps:
1. Use the latest Wacom Driver
2. Applied registry fix that worked for Windows 7:
3. Used GPEdit.msc Disable Dynamic Pen Options
User ConfigurationsAdministrative TemplatesWindows ComponentsTabletPC
Cursors- Turn off pen feedback set to “Enable”
Hardware buttons – Prevent Press and Hold set to “Enable”
4. In Control Panel for “Pen and Touch” Press and Hold Right Click is checked and enabled. Set the speed to the Longest
possible setting and the duration to short. If you disable press and hold you will get lag dragging and scrolling,
selecting text, etc.
5. In the Tablet Properties, under options, I set side switch mode set to hover click.
6. Used current registry hack
[HKEY_CURRENT_USERControl PanelCursors] ContactVisualisation from 1 to 0, and the key GestureVisualisation
from 1F (31) to 0
